C5 Brakes: Part 2 Pictures

C5 Brakes: Part 2

I finally got my calipers, and they look really cool. They came new, complete with abutment brackets and brand new pads!
For Christmas, I got the fabricated upper strut mounts from Spohn, I can't wait to get them on the car.
Yesterday I finally got off my lazy butt and modified my spindles to hold the C5 calipers. It was a lot easier than I'd thought. I used the grinder and the sawz-all to cut off the "ears" that the original calipers bolted too. Then I drilled out two of the holes that the dust shield mounted too, and then tapped it for a much bigger bolt.
I also ordered custom hubs for the front and a set of Chevy Performance C5 slotted and drilled rotors (the upgraded stock rotors available on the 'Vette). I made the decision that it would be better to hold off on the more expensive DBA rotors until my driving skills can actually use them. lol. I should be getting them in about a week.
When that happens, it will be time to install the calipers and rotors onto the spindles and rear end. After that its time to figure out my pedel assembly and install the hard brake lines under the car.

I recently bought front and rear brakets from Ed Miller on thirdgen.org to upgrade my brakes to C5 calipers and rotors (left: braket on the rear axle). Every single part of the suspension has been taken out of the car, and now its time to start putting things back together. I need to modify my spindles to accept my new calipers, which I'll be getting in about a week. New brake lines are first to go on, and then the suspension starts going back under the car. I'll post more pictures of the brakes soon.
